Rediscovering Originality: My Journey with AI in Art
The world of art is ever-evolving, and the advent of artificial intelligence has unveiled new horizons, but also new challenges. Recently, I sought the opinions of close ones on my latest Instagram posts, and their words still echo in my mind:
“I can no longer see your originality. This isn’t you; even the texts are repetitive. There are too many posts.”
Indeed, originality seems to have become a scarce commodity, even when utilizing cutting-edge tools like Midjourney. After long hours of labor and creation, we often find, sometimes to our dismay, hundreds of similar images scattered across the internet. The thrill of creation is then drowned in a sea of reproductions.
Curious, I investigated other artists I follow, those adored by thousands. And the conclusion is the same: everything has been done and redone. Accusations of copying fly, blurring the lines between inspiration and imitation.
However, I remain convinced that tools like Midjourney are invaluable keys to unlocking the gates of imagination, and I am resolved to continue exploring them. The challenge now is to find myself within these images and the accompanying texts.
The journey to oneself is never easy, and the road is uncertain. Will I manage to infuse my works with my essence? Only time, and perhaps my friends, will be the judges. They will let me know if they see my reflection in these images, and I place all my trust in them.
But what do you think? Have you also felt this disappearance of the self in the incessant flow of creations? Do you face the same challenges in your own works? Have you found ways to maintain your uniqueness in this world where everything seems to have already been created?
I invite you to share your experiences, your thoughts, and perhaps, your solutions. Let’s explore this new territory of self-expression in the age of artificial intelligence together. Your responses could not only shed light on my path but also serve as a beacon for other navigators of digital creation.
